Super Laykold is a rubberised bitumen emulsion used for waterproofing roofs, terraces, parapets, ponds, water tanks, and sealing joints or screws on metal roofs. It creates a flexible waterproof membrane that protects surfaces from water ingress and leakage.
Yes. It is ideal for sealing laps, joints, screw holes and overlaps on corrugated or metal-sheet roofing — ensuring waterproofing even on metal roofs when properly primed.
Yes. When cured correctly, Super Laykold is non-toxic and suitable for water exposure — even in koi ponds or water storage tanks — making it a safe waterproofing choice.
On concrete, masonry or standard surfaces — no separate primer is required. However on metal surfaces (galvanised iron, steel sheets) a suitable metal primer must be used for proper adhesion.
Typically at least two coats are applied: a base coat (with embedded membrane if required) and a second coat for full coverage. Some systems add a third finishing coat for smoothness and added protection.
Yes. Super Laykold is suitable for flat roofs, terraces or balconies — acting as a waterproof membrane under tiles or screed to prevent water ingress and leaks.
Yes. Being a rubberised bitumen emulsion, it remains flexible, provides good adhesion, and accommodates slight structural movements — reducing risk of cracks and leak formation.
It can be applied on clean, dry, stable surfaces such as concrete slabs, screeds, masonry, parapet walls, metal roofs (after priming), and old roofs needing re-waterproofing or sealing.
No — Super Laykold waterproofing membrane is not designed for surfaces that will receive heavy foot traffic or load. It is best used under tiles/screed or in waterproofing systems where load is minimal.
Ensure substrate is clean, dry and free of oils or laitance. On metal roofs, apply primer first. Do not apply if temperature is below 5 °C. Protect freshly applied coating from rain, direct sun or heavy wind until fully cured.
