Application Instructions

  • Install onto approved timber or metal frame / facade support system per manufacturer guidelines.
  • Fix boards with suitable corrosion-resistant screws; ensure proper joint sealing & weather-proofing for façades.
  • Leave printed / glass-mat side outward for external exposure; ensure overhangs, drainage, cavity and ventilation per façade system design.
  • Not recommended for direct external exposure without a proper cladding / render or finishing layer — only as part of a complete wall / façade system.
  • Inside buildings, can be used as moisture- and mould-resistant internal lining for wet areas, bathrooms, kitchens or humid zones.

Suitable Applications

  • Exterior wall sheathing and façade cladding (with proper cladding/render system)
  • Substructures for exterior rainscreen or ventilated façades
  • Internal wet-area lining — bathrooms, kitchens, utility rooms requiring moisture/mould resistance
  • Residential and commercial buildings needing moisture-resistant partitions or linings
  • Mixed-use buildings, apartments or humid-climate projects — especially in coastal or tropical zones

Compatibility & Limitations

  • Must be used as part of a complete façade or wall system to ensure weather, UV and fire protection — alone it is not a final external finish.
  • Not suitable where temperature exposure exceeds ~45-49 °C (per manufacturer data) — avoid uncontrolled high heat zones.
  • For external walls, use specified render, cavity, waterproofing and finishing systems — otherwise board durability may reduce.

Safety & Handling

  • Store boards flat, on level supports, protected from moisture and direct rain until installation.
  • Handle with care — use manual lifting from long edge to avoid core or mat damage.
  • Cut using scoring and snapping over a straight-edge knife; avoid power saws unless dust control and PPE used.
  • Ensure all joints and penetrations are sealed correctly, especially for external / façade use, to maintain weather-, moisture- and fire-resistance.

Frequently Asked Questions

Glasroc X is a high-performance gypsum sheathing board reinforced with a glass-fibre mat. It offers moisture, mould, UV, fire and weather resistance, making it suitable for external façades or internal wet-area linings.

It can be used for exterior wall sheathing under cladding/render systems, external façades, and internal wet-area linings like bathrooms or kitchens — anywhere moisture, mould or weather resistance is needed.

Yes. Its glass-mat reinforcement and hydrophobic additives grant high resistance to water absorption and mould growth, making it ideal for humid environments.

Yes. The board has non-combustible gypsum core and glass-mat reinforcement; when installed properly within a wall system, it meets fire-rating standards.

Yes — but only as part of a complete façade system with appropriate support frame, cavity, drainage, cladding/render, and sealing. Standalone use is not enough for weatherproof conditions.

Typically 12.5 mm thickness, 1200 mm width, and 2400 mm length (subject to stock).

Fix onto timber or metal frames using corrosion-resistant screws; ensure joints and penetrations are sealed; face the glass-mat side outwards for exterior use; treat as per manufacturer guidance.

Yes — its moisture and mould resistance make it suitable for wet rooms, kitchens, bathrooms or utility areas inside buildings.

Not suitable for extremely high temperature zones (> ~45-49 °C). Also, for external use it must be part of a full façade system; not recommended as a standalone external wall.

Because Glasroc X combines moisture, mould, fire and weather resistance with lighter weight, easier installation, and better dimensional stability — making it a superior alternative for façades, humid areas or climates with heavy weather exposure.
