Description

GROUT SEAL is a pre-formed, ether-based polyurethane foam tape designed to prevent grout loss through butt joins and gaps in formwork during concrete casting. The closed-cell foam compresses to fill gaps and returns to shape, providing a temporary seal that simplifies formwork operations and produces cleaner, defect-free concrete edges.

Available Pack Size

• 10 mm x 20 mm x 10 m (roll)

Product Highlights

  • Ether-based polyurethane closed-cell foam tape
  • Prevents grout loss and leakage through formwork joints
  • Compressible and resilient — good recovery after compression
  • Easy to apply — self-adhesive or friction-fit depending on profile
  • Reduces cleaning time and improves concrete finish quality

Technical Specifications

Property Specification
Material Ether-based polyurethane closed-cell foam
Typical Cross Section 10 mm x 20 mm
Roll Length 10 m
Compression Resistance Good; designed for repeated compression and recovery
Temperature Range -30°C to +80°C (typical)
Water Absorption Low (closed-cell)

Application Instructions

  • Surface Prep: Ensure formwork faces are clean and dry.
  • Installation: Place GROUT SEAL tape into the butt joint or gap so the tape compresses slightly when formwork is assembled. For non-adhering profiles, use adhesive or staple as required.
  • During Pour: The tape forms a temporary seal that prevents cement paste and grout passing through the joint. After stripping, remove any remaining tape.
  • Note: Select tape profile/size to suit gap; do not use as permanent joint filler or waterproofing.

Coverage / Yield

  • One 10 m roll at 10 mm x 20 mm covers 10 linear metres of joint.

Suitable Applications

  • Formwork butt joints and connections
  • Precast element joint protection during casting
  • Temporary sealing of gaps to prevent grout loss

Compatibility & Limitations

  • Not a permanent sealant — remove after formwork stripping and finish joint as required.
  • Avoid prolonged exposure to UV if left exposed onsite for extended periods.

Safety & Handling

  • Cut tape using scissors or a knife with appropriate PPE.
  • Dispose of removed tape and waste according to local regulations.

Supplied as 10 mm x 20 mm x 10 m roll (other sizes can be specified on request).

Place into joint or gap so it compresses when formwork is assembled; adhesive or mechanical fixing can be used if required.

It minimizes grout passage during pouring but is not a permanent waterproofing product.

Generally designed as a temporary single-use product; reuse depends on condition after removal.

One roll = 10 linear metres at the stated cross-section.

Typical operating range -30°C to +80°C.

Minimal; avoid inhaling dust from cutting and dispose of waste responsibly.
