Application Instructions

  • Install the first layer between ceiling joists.
  • Install the second layer over and at right angles to the joists for maximum coverage.
  • Use perforations to split rolls into 600 mm widths without tools.
  • Ensure insulation is not compressed during installation.
  • Keep insulation dry before and during installation.

Coverage Calculator

  • Coverage = Total area ÷ roll coverage (5.53–22.80 m² depending on thickness).

Suitable Applications

  • Pitched roofs at ceiling level
  • Loft and attic insulation
  • Residential roof spaces
  • Thermal upgrades for existing ceilings
  • Energy efficiency improvement projects

Compatibility & Limitations

  • Suitable for timber joists at 400 mm or 600 mm centres.
  • Not designed for external exposed use.
  • Avoid compressing insulation to maintain thermal performance.

Safety & Handling

  • Wear long sleeves, gloves and a dust mask during handling.
  • Store indoors or under cover, off the ground.
  • Do not leave insulation exposed to the elements after installation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Ceiling Roll is primarily used for insulating pitched roofs at ceiling level. It provides excellent thermal, acoustic and fire performance, helping improve energy efficiency, reduce heat loss and increase comfort in both new builds and renovation projects.

By providing high thermal resistance (R-values up to 5.00 m²·K/W), Ceiling Roll reduces heat transfer through ceilings. This lowers heating and cooling demand, resulting in improved energy performance and lower electricity costs for homeowners or building operators.

Yes. Ceiling Roll is classified as Euroclass A1, the highest possible non-combustible rating. It does not contribute to flame spread or smoke production, making it a safe insulation choice for all types of residential and commercial pitched roof applications.

Absolutely. Ceiling Roll provides notable acoustic absorption, with NRC values ranging from 0.81 to 1.16 depending on thickness. When installed correctly, it reduces airborne noise transferred through roof structures and improves indoor acoustic comfort.

Ceiling Roll is extremely easy to install. It is lightweight, flexible and supplied with partially cut perforations that allow quick splitting into 600 mm widths. This makes fitting between timber joists simple and fast, reducing labour time and installation difficulty.

Yes. Manufactured with ECOSE® Technology, Ceiling Roll uses a bio-based binder with no added formaldehyde. It has zero Ozone Depletion Potential and zero Global Warming Potential, making it an environmentally responsible insulation solution for sustainable buildings.

Yes. Ceiling Roll is rot-proof, non-hygroscopic and does not support mould, fungi, bacteria or vermin. This ensures long-term durability and hygiene, especially in attic or loft environments where moisture control is essential for building protection.

No. Compressing the insulation reduces its thermal resistance and overall performance. It should be installed so that the roll fully recovers to its designed thickness, ensuring maximum insulating effectiveness and full compliance with performance specifications.

Ceiling Roll has very low vapour resistivity. Whether a vapour barrier is required will depend on your ceiling build-up, moisture conditions and national building regulations. Many roof structures use vapour control layers for moisture protection, especially in colder climates.

Rolls should be stored indoors or under cover, off the ground and protected from rain or direct exposure. Packaging provides only short-term protection. Proper storage ensures the insulation maintains its full thermal and acoustic performance.
